After a beautiful hike at Alderfer/ Three Sisters Park in Evergreen, Colorado, we stopped in Morrison on our way back to our home. We worked up quite the appetite and were pleased with the view of an old, adorable, red restaurant in downtown Morrison lined with inviting fountains.

The Hungry Goat is a restaurant located at 102 Market Street, Morrison, Colorado. They offer a variety of menus, including lunch, dinner, brunch, and drinks. Their operation hours vary throughout the week, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays. The ambience was beautiful at golden hour, as we opted to sit outside. This area was enclosed with a tent with clear windows to look out at the sparkling water of the fountains and the mountains in the glowing sun. The building was erected in the 1800s and provided comfort and charm.

The Quinoa Burger at The Hungry Goat is a delightful option for those seeking a vegetarian meal. Its pleasant taste notes come from the combination of quinoa, a versatile and nutritious grain, with fresh peppers and spices, providing a satisfying kick of flavor. I could not help but stop by again on my second hike of the year in Morrison. This time, we shared a burrata and herb flat bread appetizer. For our entrees, I ordered the salmon, which was delicious and my fiancee ordered tacos which he thoroughly enjoyed.

The Regular Burger is a classic choice for meat lovers. It's juicy and cooked to perfection, with a nice char on the outside while remaining tender on the inside. The burger is well-seasoned and complemented by fresh greens, pickled beets, and a soft bun, making for a delightful and satisfying meal. Both burgers were served with truffles fries.

The Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand is known for its crisp and refreshing taste. It typically features notes of tropical fruits like passionfruit and kiwi, along with a zesty acidity that makes it a perfect pairing for lighter dishes or a refreshing drink on a warm day. This paired well with the Quinoa. I found it to have notes of pear, apples, and nectarines.

The Pinot Noir from France is a classic choice for red wine enthusiasts. It often has a smooth and elegant profile, with flavors of red fruits like cherries and raspberries, and a hint of earthiness. This one in particular had an oaked, old-world flavor of black currant, leather, wood, and cinnamon. It's a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes, from burgers to more sophisticated fare.
